AKKUYU NUCLEAR employees took part in the inclusive events and "Sails of the Spirit" regatta

November 4, 2022, Büyükeceli, Mersin Province, Turkey. - Events under the flag of the International Charitable Mission "Sails of the Spirit" were held in Mersin Province, in the Akkuyu NPP construction region. The representatives of AKKUYU NUCLEAR, community organizations and international crew of the expedition "Sails of the Spirit" held a regatta viz. a competition on two yachts, an environmental campaign and a concert.

During the regatta the crew members of the "Sails of the Spirit" conducted inclusive master classes on the yachts: walks in the dark, tying of sailor's knots. Journalists and staff of AKKUYU NUCLEAR took part in them. An environmental campaign on garbage collection was held on the embankment in the Taşucu settlement after the regatta, and all the participants of the regatta and local residents took part in it.

It was followed by a concert in the evening at the central square of Taşucu settlement for the local residents, where the regatta participants viz. people with disabilities from Turkey, Latvia, Russia, Armenia, Nepal and Israel performed music and creative dance numbers. Sadyk Altunok, the Mayor of Silifke and Vasily Korelsky, Press Secretary of AKKUYU NUCLEAR CEO addressed the participants with greetings.

The program ended with an award ceremony of the winners of the "Sails of the Spirit-2022" regatta.

Dursun Arslan, Vice President of the Federation of the visually handicapped of Turkey, one of the organizers of the "Sails of the Spirits" mission in Turkey: "I am very proud that for 5 years I am taking part in the "Sails of the Spirit" project". This year we are holding an event jointly with the Russian "White cane" organization and Tarsus platform of people with disabilities. We thank our foreign guests and all those who support us: First, the Russian Rosatom State Corporation, and Mayor's office and Administration of Silifke district, administration of Akdeniz district and other state organizations. Next year we again plan holding a similar event here in Mersin province".

Anastasia Zoteeva, CEO of the company made a comment on the participation of AKKUYU NUCLEAR in the charity project "Sails of the Spirit": "For several years running our colleagues regularly appear as volunteers at the events under the flag of the "Sails of the Spirit". The Mediterranean phase of the expedition "Sails of the Spirit" was held in Turkey from October 8 to 22, 2022supported by Rosatom State Corporation. In the Mediterranean Sea the yacht with inclusive crew sailed along the route Marmaris - Antalya - Taşucu - Marmaris, by organizing joint sailings with the participation of local residents, concerts, environmental campaigns, inclusive master classes, sports events and excursions at the stoppage locations.dministrative buildings, training center, NPP physical protection facilities, etc.
