Hanhikivi-1 project presented at Northern Industry Expo in Oulu, Finland

May 25, 2018, Oulu. Hanhikivi-1 project participants - Fennovoima Oy and Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation – presented the NPP Hanhikivi-1 developments at the Northern Industry exhibition on May 23-24, 2018 in Oulu, capital of Northern Scandinavia and the Northern Ostrobothnia region of Finland. On behalf of Rosatom, the project was presented by Rusatom Energy International (REIN), RAOS Voima Oy, RAOS Project, and by TITAN-2 Construction Holding.

The project team answered numerous questions of the expo participants, with the key question among those asked being how a company becomes a supplier of Hanhikivi-1 NPP.

“Hanhikivi-1 project is quite a special one among those many foreign projects run by Rosatom State Corporation. Finland is one of the most progressive and technologically advanced European countries, thus the success of our project in Finland deems to be a “quality certificate” helping to promote our new technologies and new BOO projects not in Finland only, but in the markets of other countries, too.” – said Alina Haapalainen-Kamenev, RAOS Voima Regional Director.

“Meeting and detailed conversation with Hanhikivi-1 representatives appeared as the opportunity to locate “the right channel” for entering the project,” - said Risto Wallin, Country Manager Askalon Finland.

“The exhibition is a chance for us to demonstrate very clearly our openness for cooperation. Our main goal during the expo was to show that many local firms and companies have the opportunity to participate in Hanhikivi-1 project. We give strong priority to local companies as they know their market and region, and they understand technical requirements well. I am confident we will see new names joining the potential suppliers list of Hanhikivi-1 following the expo results,” – noted Mikhail Tchitcherin, Public Relations Manager for TITAN-2 Construction Holding in Finland, after the exhibition.

“The construction of NPP Hanhikivi-1 gives momentum to our region development. Businessmen and entrepreneurs of Raahe look close at the progress of the project, and they look forward for its active construction phase to start so that they can offer their services to the project,” – said Edward Mousienko of the Raahe District Development Centre.
