Fennovoima and Rosatom Shared Experience with ENERGIA 2018 Expo Participants
Tampere, October 25, 2018 – Fennovoima Oy Finnish company and RAOS Project Oy, a Finnish subsidiary of REIN (part of Rosatom State Corporation), jointly participated in ENERGIA 2018 - the 14th international energy technologies exhibition.
Fennovoima Oy and RAOS Project Oy presented the best practices of project management underlying Hanhikivi-1 project. Key priorities of the project implementation include safety of the NPP construction and operation, safety culture development, personal responsibility for the result, as well as effective and transparent interaction between the all participants of the project.
“One of the breakthrough decisions on the project was the introduction of communication practices in ‘task force’ format – that is direct interaction with the customer when reviewing and updating licensing documentation,” said Alexey Kalinin, Director of Project Management Department in RAOS Project Oy. “Thanks to this new practice, as well as regular three-party meetings to coordinate the preparation of licensing documents between Fennovoima Oy, RAOS Project Oy, and representatives of nuclear regulator STUK, important packages of the NPP conceptual design documents and the results of various safety analyses were prepared and submitted to the regulator in the first half of 2018.
According to Alexey Kalinin, the processes of interaction and communication between all stakeholders at all levels being formed on the Hanhikivi-1 project present an efficient practice that can be useful to all market participants engaged in large-scale energy and infrastructure projects implementation.
There is a large international team working on the Hanhikivi-1 project. To make the project a success, RAOS Project Oy engages qualified professionals and experts from many countries, including the USA, Germany, the Czech Republic, France and Slovakia. With more than 700 engineers from Atomproekt and other field-specific organizations of Rosatom working on the project, a team of over 100 key experts was relocated to Helsinki specially for the purpose of effective interaction with the Finnish partners.
The general project management information system (including such elements as requirements management, configuration management and change management) promotes teamwork in the most efficient and result-oriented manner.
The largest energy exhibition in Finland, ENERGIA is a platform where professionals discuss the trends of the energy industry and share experience with market stakeholders. For reference:
