In her address, Alesia Iunikova noted that “today the majority of young people on the planet (1.8 billion) mainly live in low-income countries that need steady supplies of electricity to achieve sustainable development goals. In 2018, the UN launched a youth strategy in support of the 2030 Agenda. Thus, it is the young generation that is the modern driver for achieving the SDGs."
The nuclear agenda was covered for the first time at the Vienna Energy Forum. Rafael Mariano Grossi, IAEA Director General, also participated as a speaker in the high-level panel session on «Winning the Race to Zero».
