A center of competences, part of the Digital Economy of the Russian Federation program, set up at ROSATOM

The Center of Competences “Building up Research Competences and Technological Backlog” of the program “Digital Economy of the Russian Federation set up at ROSATOM has kicked off on the 4th of September 2017.

The Digital Economy of the Russian Federation program describes four cross-cutting areas to work within the project: “New Production Technologies”, “Big Data”, “Quantum Communication Technologies” and “Virtual and Augmented Reality Technologies”. The Center of Competences will prepare plans of measures to improve quality of life and conditions for entrepreneurship in the four technological areas.

Jointly with business representatives, experts and leading technological universities ROSATOM will form work teams who will produce the plans of measures. The proposals work out by the teams will be aimed at solving tasks and achieving goals defined in the program “Building up Research Competences and Technological Backlog”. The Center will be responsible for processing and consolidation of all proposal and subsequent their submitting for review by the working team lead by JSC RVK. After passing this stage, the proposals will be sent to the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation (Minkomsvyaz of Russia).

The project office “Digital Transformation of the Industry”, reportable to First Deputy Director General and Director for Development and International Business Kirill Komarov, has been set up to coordinate this work. Evgeniy Osochenko has become the head of this office.

“As one of centers of competences, ROSATOM is facing an ambitious task. We will be an integrator of all received proposals to the plan of measures within our area from any organizations concerned. Before the end of September, working jointly with JSC RVK, Minkomsvyaz of Russia and ANO Digital Economy, we must produce the ready-made document for review of the Government Commission,” Komarov commented. He also noted that the joint work would focus not only on ROSATOM’s experience and competences but also on the best Russian and foreign practices.

PJSC Megafon, PJSC Sberbank of Russia, ANO ASI, Yandex LLC, OMP LLC, 1C LLC, Mail.Ru LLC, PJSC MTS, PJSC Rostelekom, Skolkovo Foundation, Vnesheconombank, Rabler Internat Holding LLC, FSUE  Pochta Rossii and JSC RVK have already become partners of the Center of Competences partners.
