Rosatom and FinNuclear Association hold Hanhikivi-1 Business Day for NPP project suppliers

November, Moscow/Helsinki

The annual Hanhikivi-1 seminar was held for partners and suppliers of the Hanhikivi-1 NPP construction project, organized by the Finnish Nuclear Industry Association FinNuclear. Rosatom State Corporation was the official partner of the event, presenting its own virtual exhibition booth with project-related visuals.

Despite the online format of this year’s edition, the seminar attracted a large audience, with over 160 participants registered on the event platform; more than half of them participated in business-to-business (B2B) meetings on the sidelines of the seminar.

In the event agenda, Rosatom was represented by RAOS Project Oy (a 100% subsidiary of JSC REIN, part of Rosatom), the general supplier of the Hanhikivi-1 NPP, and JSC CONCERN TITAN-2, the main contractor for NPP construction. The major focus in presentations delivered by the speakers was on the requirements to subcontractors, and qualification procedures for new suppliers of the project.

The seminar also featured a presentation by Fennovoima Oy, the customer and future operator of the Hanhikivi-1 NPP, which outlined the current project implementation status, main tasks for 2020 and project works that require engagement of contractors.

The Finnish Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (STUK) concluded the business program with a presentation giving an overview of national safety culture features to be taken into account by potential contractors wishing to join the project.

During the seminar, the participants were asking questions in the stream chat, mostly concerning prequalification details as well as key stages and deadlines of contractor qualification.
